My Mommy’s Stroke and MeAll my life it’s just been my Mom and I. She raised me as a single parent and with the help of my maternal grandmom during life’s main events such as going to college and high school stuff. My Mom is my rock, my life, my first and only love.

Re: My Mommy’s Stroke and MeYou mom is very lucky to have you. I'm glad to know that she survived and hope she is still rehabilitating well. My husband's mother lived for 40+ years after her stroke that left her paralyzed and speechless. She did quite well considering. God bless you and your mom for continued health.
Re: My Mommy’s Stroke and Mewow. all my life it as just been me and my mom as well. my dad died wen i was much younger. well my mom just had a stroke on feb 19, 2009. shes was just 49 and i was only 19. you are older yes but its nice to hear that someone had a very similar story to mine and that i am not alone. i also felt like my many aunts and uncles and cousins would not be enough support but the only good outcome of my moms stroke is bring me closer to both her side and my dads side which i was estranged from after my fathers death.
i didnt even know what a stroke was until it happened to my mom. she can now never live on her own again or work and the strokes also left her blind. this has been super hard on me being so young my life changed so much but somehow i am still going to school and working. its even harder because my mom is so angry with me because she thinks i am keeping her prisoner in a nursing/rehab center. i hate her being there but i cannot take of her since i am so young or afford home care. i hope things get easier.
