possible PADS?

Post a new topicby nkvd on Tue Mar 31, 2009 4:57 pm

My symptoms are pain in the right calf muscle when walking, this can get quite severe, in which case I need to stop and rest for a few moments. Other symptoms are foot cramps when curling toes, tingling in the foot and sometimes numbness. All other activities appear not to bring on this pain, just walking. I have had a PADS test with Doppler exam, this was reported as being normal, I have had x-rays and MRI scan and two block nerve root injections in L1 and L5 at the spine. I have had physio. All this has not helped the problem and I am left without diagnosis at this stage.

Your symptoms are the same as mine. My leg doppler showed decreased blood velocity which means I have PADS. I can only suggest you get a second opinion and have the doppler test repeated.

Correction: My doppler showed high velocities in both legs. * If the blood vessel/ artery shows increased velocity, it means there is narrowing of the blood vessel.
