mrsa infection in testicles

Post a new topicby kimberlyrlucas on Wed Sep 16, 2009 8:16 pm

My husband has MRSA and a testicular abscess from it, which was oozing pus and blood in copious amounts as well as painful in his abdomen and groin. He also has a band-like mass that wraps around his testicle and goes up into his pubic bone. He got sick with fever, dizziness nad vomiting June 29, and was sent back to his cell with not so much as a tylenol. Two days later, he was still vomiting and had a 103 fever and was taken to the local ER. After that, he was put in an isolation bed for 34 days, spent 10 days on Biaxin, which they took him off of for a week, then the MRSA returned, he was put back on Bactrim, taken off of it after 10 days, a week later, back on Bactrim. Now he is on Bactrim again, and again has pus and blood oozing. Also, still has the band around the testicle that goes up into his pubic bone area. I have been asking for them to take him to a urologist as this is not clearing very well or very quickly, but the most common highest level professional he sees is an ARNP. He has seen two different doctors, never any followup, and was placed back on the Bactrim both times, but nothing else. He is weak, pale, feels crappy, no appetite, as well as burning in his scrotal, abdomen, and groin areas. They have scheduled him to see the ARNP next week. Any answers or suggestions would be appreciated!!!!
