Loss of Sensation, Hesitation

Post a new topicby sfranco on Tue Oct 07, 2008 10:51 am

I am 28 years old male and have recently developed a lack of sensation in regards to using the restroom. Several weeks ago, I fell asleep after drinking and didn't wake up to pee all night. In the morning, I noticed I didn't feel the sensation to use the restroom, all though I needed to. Now I don't feel the need to go anymore and it takes me a long time to use the restroom (I stand there and wait until eventually, I start going). I was drinking a lot of caffeine (2-4 cups of coffee) a day, so I quit that and switched to water. It's almost harder to pass water than the caffeine I was drinking

In the past, I have been bad about holding my pee in, but have never had this sort of problem. My groin area has a lack of sensation as well. I went to a urologist yesterday who told me that my problems were impossible. If my bladder got too full, I would eventually pee myself, and that any holding of urine wouldn't stretch the bladder or create these sensation problems. He could do a flow test to determine if I was retaining anything, but to me, it doesn't feel like I am.

Does anyone have any insight as to what may be causing this?
